Zebulon, Pike County, Georgia, October 19, 1900 Beckham - Mathews At the M.E. church in Concord Oct. 30, 1900, Miss Julia Beckham will be united in marriage to Mr. R.C. Mathews. The maid of honor will be Miss Ura Woodruff of Covington while the other bridesmaids will be Misses Annie Lee of Concord, Lucy Scott of Beeks and Mary Lizzie Mathews of Zebulon. Mr. Mortimer Smith of Concord will be the groom’s best man and Messrs. Clarence Strickland of Concord, Sidney Green of Zebulon, and J.H. Strickland of Concord, will be groomsmen. As the party enters the church Mendelssohn’s Wedding March will be played by Miss Mary Strickland of Concord. Rev. J.W. Beck will perform the ceremony. Mr. Mathews is a young man of rare business qualities and noble traits of character. He is now occupying the position as bookkeeper for the R.F. Strickland Co. of Concord. Miss Beckham is the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jno. Beckham of Concord and since her return from college at Milledgeville two years ago, her sunny disposition and nobility of character has won for her a host of friends who wish for the young couple great happiness.
