The Pike County Journal. Zebulon, Pike County, Georgia, January 18, 1901

On Thursday night of last week, at eight o’clock at Concord, Miss Edna Madden 
and Mr. J.L. Gardner were united in marriage. The marriage tool place at the 
Baptist church and was a brilliant social event, being witnessed by a large 
number of people. The ceremony was performed by Dr. Ragsdale, of Macon. The 
bride was a social favorite in Concord and is a young woman who numbers her 
friends by the score, while the groom is a prominent citizen of Locust Grove.
