Barnesville, Georgia, July 24, 1890 An Eventful Wedding One of the most important events in the social circles of our fair city in some time past was the marriage of Prof. Jere M. Pound and Miss Ada Murphey at the home of Capt. E.J. Murphey last Thursday evening. Quite a number of relatives of each party and a few of their most intimate friends were present to witness the happy scene and to congratulate the happy couple in the beginning of their married life. Rev J.B. Johnstone in a beautiful and impressive manner performed the ceremony. They boarded the 8 o'clock train for Murphy, N.C. where they will spend a month. Prof. Pound is widely known as a highly cultivated gentleman and as the honored young president of Gordon Institute, while Miss Murphey is recognized as one of our most accomplished and valuable young ladies. Our whole community joins the Gazette in wishing them all the joy and success of a happy married life.
