I David Adams of said State and County being of advanced age and knowing I must shortly depart from this world deem it right and proper both as respects myself and family that I should make a disposition of the property with which a kind providence has blessed me. I therefore make this my last will and Testament hereby revoking and [ _ ] all others heretofore made by me. Item 1st I desire and direct that my body be buried in a decent and Christian like manner suitable to my circumstances and condition. My soul I trust shall return to rest with God who gave it as I hope for eternal salvation through the blessed Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Item 2nd I desire and direct that all my just debts be paid without delay by my Executors hereinafter named. Item 3rd I give and devise to my beloved wife Mary with whom I have lived in the strictest quietude and love for a number of years three hundred acres of land known and distinguished in the plan of the Seventh District of said State and County by the lot number nineteen and the north half of lot eighteen with all the rights numbers and appurtenances to said lots of land in any manner appertaining or belonging to her own proper use benefit and [ _ ] in fee simple during her natural life. Item fourth I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Mary for and during her natural life the rest of my property both real and personal wherever and whatever it may be. Item fifth I desire and direct that my wife Mary to give a bed to all my children that has not had one when they became of age or Marry. Item Sixth I desire and direct that if my son William Benjamin should become twenty one years of age before the death of my wife that all my personal estate be sold and equally divided with my wife and Children and after the death of my wife I desire and direct that her estate be sold and equally divided with my Children. Item Seventh I desire and direct that if my wife Mary should die before my son William Benjamin should become twenty one years of age that all my estate both real and personal be sold and equally divided with all my Children. Item Eighth I constitute and appoint my beloved wife Mary Executrix and my worthy friend Obediah C. Gibson Executor of this my last will and Testament this 3rd day of July 1847 David Adams Signed sealed declared and published by David Adams as his last will and Testament in the presence of us the Subscribers who subscribed our names hereto in the presence of said Testator at his special instance and request [ _ ] and of each other.
