I William Barrett of advanced age and of Sound mind and memory, and deeming it right and proper to dispose of the effects with which a kind Providence has blessed me do make and Ordain this my Last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all others heretofore made by me. Item 1 I desire my body to be buried in a decent and Christian manner suitable to my condition in life. My Soul I commend to Almighty God trusting for Salvation through the merits of Jesus Christ whose religion I have professed and [ _ ]trust enjoyed for many years. Item 2 I desire that all my just debts be paid with as little delay as possible. Item 3 I give, bequeath and devise to all my Children all my effects whatever and wherever both real and personal, together with all money, notes, bonds and other evidences of debt to be equally divided among them share and share alike, and if any of my children are now dead or should die before the distribution of my estate as aforesaid, then the share, or shares of my said child or children, as aforesaid to be equally divided among his, hers, or their children equally. Item 4 I constitute and Hereby appoint my Sons William & Thomas Executors of this my Last Will and Testament and do hereby authorize and request my said Executors to take, have and use all power & means that may be lawfully taken, have and use to execute this my Last Will and Testament as fully as I myself might or could do were I in [ _ ] and personally present at doing thereof. With my hand and Seal this this 24th day of August 1872 William Barrett his mark Signed Sealed Declared and published by William Barrett as his Last Will and Testament in presence of us subscribing witnesses who Subscribed the same in his presence & in the presence of each other at his request this 24th August 1872 [ ? ] B. Barrett Pike Court of Ordinary Oct. 7th 1872 The Will of William Barrett Sr. being produced in in open Court for Probate by the Executors who have filed their petition to prove the same and the witnesses to said will J. B. Hansen, W. S. Stricker & W. J. Barrett having subscribed the following affidavit, indorses on said will Oct. Term 1872, Pike Court of Ordinary, Came into Open Court at the regular term of the Court & being duly sworn deposed that they saw William Barrett Sign and publish the within as his Last Will & Testament while of sound & disposing mind that they witnessed the same for him at his request and in his presence and of each other, and that the same was executed voluntarily on the day it purported to have been executed J.
