All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: William Russell dragonraj@comcast.net September 22, 2006, 11:19 am Source: Pike County Probate Court Written: December 18, 1880 Recorded: May 3, 1881 Pike County Georgia In the name of God Amen I Russell Beckham of the county aforesaid in my right mind & of my own free will make this my Last Will and Testament 1st I wish to be properly interred in the family graveyard on my death 2nd I desire that my debts be discharged as soon as practicable 3rd To my beloved wife Delphia I do will and bequeath all my real and personal property for during her widowhood or natural life 4th I will that my said wife Delphia have all of the proceeds arriving from rent of said lands for the support of herself and family and that she have the right and privilege of dispersing of any part of the perishable property in any way that she may see fit to be used for the payment of debts or the support of herself and family but she has not the right to sell any part of the real estate 5th I will that at the death of my said wife Delphia the whole property left be appropriated first to the payment of her debts and burial expenses 6th I will that my Executor after the death of my wife sell all the property as soon thereafter as practicable and that said property be sold at public outcry and the proceeds Arising from said estate be equally divided between my children and one grand child to be here after named that is to say Jas. J. Beckham, Hiram Beckham, Elbert S. Beckham, William Beckham, Pattie Beckham, Pinkney Beckham, my daughter Amanda Patrick wife of Robert Patrick and my grand child Lizzie M. Carriker wife of T. J. Carriker. 7th In the case of the death of either of the above named heir previous to my said wife decease I will that his or her children shall inherit for one so dying. 8th I do appoint and constitute my said wife Delphia Beckham as my executrix and James D. Carriker as my executor to carry out this my last will and testament as expressed in this according to the specification of the above instrument of writing. Heidle Filed in office for probate March 31st 1881 Harry Wells Ordinary Pike Court of Ordinary May Term 1881 The will of Russell Beckham having filed in this court for probate in solemn form and notice been given to the next of kin by the executors who have filed their petition to prove the same and the witnesses to said will, Pilkenton, J. B. Carriker and P. H. Heidle Having been examined orally and having subscribed the fore going affidavit indorsed on said will Pike Court of Ordinary May Term 1881 Came into open court at this regular term of the Court R. M. Pilkenton, J. B. Carriker and P. H. Heidle and being duly sworn depose that they saw Russell Beckham sign and publish the within as his last will and testament while of sound and disposing mind; that they witnessed the same for him, at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other; and that the same was executed voluntarily by him on the day it purports to have been executed R.
