I would prefer being buried beside my deceased husband James Beckham Item 2nd I give and bequeath to my son William C. Beckham for and during his life and after his death to go to and be equally divided among all his children born and to be born share and share alike the Lot of Land whereon My Said Son William now resides believed to be No. 255 in the 8th Dist of Said County and any of what he usually works Item 3rd I give and bequeath to my grand daughter Mattie Beckham daughter of Wm. C. Beckham a Bureau now kept upstairs Item 4th I give and bequeath to my Son A. J. Beckham all that portion of Lot of Land number two hundred and fifty (250) in the 8th Dist of Said County which lies on the west side of Elkins Creek. I also give him my mare mule and one cow and calf Item 5th I give to my Son Joseph C. Beckham one cow and calf, and I give and bequeath to his wife Mary my Silver table and Tea spoons and a rose bed quilt and to their Daughter Mary W. Yarbrough a quilt called the Two Lovers Knot Item 6th I give to my Daughter Eliza Heath one bed and bedstead ( the bedstead that belonged to my son Solomon) one Large Star Bed Quilt (made by her) also my Large folding table (which once belonged to my son Solomon) Item 7th I give and bequeath to my grand Son James [ Arch? ] Son of my daughter Sallie Pryor [?] one bed quilt called the Irish Chain and a round diaper counterpane ( and his cow given him by his grandfather) Item 8th I give and bequeath to my daughter Martha Slaton in consequence of her never having received anything from her father in her Lifetime, she having [ _ _ ] but a short time before his death and the [ _ ] willed to her by him being [ _ ] [ _ ] after all the residue of My estate consisting of Lot of Land number Two hundred and two hundred [ entered twice ] and twenty six (226) on which I now reside and that portion of Lot No. 233 which lies on the east line of Elkins Creek. One mule called Elliot, two cows queeny and Mollie, all my crop of corn fodder, land other produce on hand at my death, all my Stock of hogs and all my household and Kitchen furniture not herein before willed to others. All my plantation tools wagon and all the residue of my property after paying off the foregoing legacies and Such debts if any as I may owe at the time of my death Item 9th I nominate and appoint my Son Joseph C. Beckham My Executor to carry this will into effect by delivering to each the property will [ed] him or her and to do so without the expense appraisers or orders as the Legacies are all Specific and I desire it attended to without the Expense usually incident to ordinary divisions In witness whereof she Said Martha Beckham has here unto set her hand and affixed her Seal this 11th day of December 1868 We the undersigned witnesses for Martha Beckham Sign and heard her publish and declare the foregoing writing to contain her Last will and Testament and at her request we signed the same as witnesses in her presence and in the presence of each other Decr 12th 1868 Hartford Green F. A. Waller [?] Rebecca A. Green Pike Court of Ordinary January Term 1873 The Will of Martha Beckham being produced in open Court for probate and the Subscribing witnesses to Said will F. A. Waller & Rebecca Green having Subscribed the following affidavit indorsed on Said will January Term 1873 of the Pike Court of Ordinary: came into open Court on this Regular term of the Court F. A. Waller & Rebecca A. Green two of the Subscribing witnesses of Said will & being duly sworn and deposed that they [they twice] Saw Martha Beckham sign & publish the within as her last will and testament while of Sound and disposing Mind that they witnessed the Same for her at her request and in her presence and of each other and that the same was Executed Voluntarily by her on the day it purports to have been Executed F.
