Item first I desire and direct that my body be buried in a decent and Christian Like manner suitable to my circumstances and condition. My soul I trust shall return to rest with God who gave it as I hope for eternal Salvation through the blessed Lord and Savior Jesus Christ whose religion I have professed and as I humbly trust have enjoyed Item Second I desire and direct that all my just debts be paid without delay by my Executor hereinafter named as I am unwilling my Creditors should be delayed of their rights especially as there is no necessity for delay. Item Third I give and devise to my beloved daughter in Law Elizabeth Germany all of my stock household and kitchen furniture all my notes and money and all other property both real and personal that belongs to me at my death to her the Said Elizabeth Germany for her own proper use and benefit and behoof forever with free power to dispose of the same at any time without reserve or consultation [ ? ] Item fourth I constitute and appoint my beloved friend Green B. M. Blount Executor to this my last Will and Testament This Febry 12th 1868 Lucy Brown her mark Signed Sealed and declared and published by Lucy Brown as her last Will and Testament in the presence of us the Subscribers who subscribed our names hereto in the presence of said Testatrix and of each other This Feby 12th 1868 C. C. Stribbing [ ? ] E. A. C. Lynch N. E. Oxford Pike County Ordinary March Term 1868 The Will of Lucy Brown being produced in open Court for probate by the Executor who has filed his petition to prove the same and the witnesses to Said Will C. C. Stribbing, E. A. C. Lynch & N. E. Oxford having subscribed the following affidavit endorsed on Said Will March Term 1868 of Pike County of Ordinary Came in open Court at this regular Term of the Court C. C. Stribbing one of the witnesses and being duly sworn depose that he saw Lucy Brown Sign and publish the within as her last Will & Testament while of sound and disposing mind that he witnessed the same for her and at her request and in the presence of the other witnesses and the same was Executed voluntarily by her on the day it purports to have been Executed C. C. Stribbing Sworn to and subscribed before me in open Court March Term 1868 J. J. Harper Ordy Pike Court of Ordinary March Term 1868 I Green B. M. Blount having filed a petition for the probate of the Will Lucy do Solemnly Swear that the within Will is last Will and Testament of Lucy Brown, and that I will execute it the same to the best of my ability as Executor Green B.
