Buffington of the State and County aforesaid being of Sound and disposing mind and memory do make this my last Will and testament. Item 1st I desire and will that all my just debts be paid which are few. Item 2nd I desire and will that the south half of my land which is fifty acres more or less be sold within twelve months after my death and that the proceeds of Said land be equally divided between G. S. Buffington Agnes E. Morgan and Susan Herndon Item 3rd I give and bequeath the North fifty acres of my land to Mary A. Buffington Sarah H. Buffington and Ophelia Ferguson. If said land should be sold then Sarah H. Buffington and Mary A. Buffington to have from the proceeds of sale of Said land fifty dollars each more than Ophelia Ferguson. Item 4th I give and bequeath to John W. and James A. Buffington fifty dollars each. Item 5th I desire and will that my mule and one cow be sold after the expiration of twelve months from my decease, and the proceeds to be applied to the payment of any debt, and if this be not sufficient to meet all demands the then the remainder to come from the rent of my lands Item 6th I give and bequeath ay wagon & harness to Mary A. and Sarah H. Buffington as long as they remain on the place Should they break up, then Said wagon & harness be sold and the proceeds be equally divided between Mary A. and Sarah H. Buffington, Ophelia Ferguson and Agnes E. Morgan Item 7th I give and bequeath all my perishable property not heretofore enumerated to Mary A. and Sarah H. Buffington and Agnes E. Morgan Item 8th I give bequeath and devise all my household furniture and bedding to Mary A Sarah H. Buffington and Ophelia Ferguson and Susan E. Herndon Item 9th I give bequeath and devise all my kitchen furniture to Mary A. and Sarah H. Buffington Item 10th I devise and will that all my plantation supplies, corn fodder shucks meat plow gear and plow tools shall remain on the place for the benefit of the family now with me Item 11th I hereby constitute and appoint my son G. S. Buffington and my son in law W. J. Ferguson Executors of this my last will and testament. This 10th day of December 1884 G. P. Buffington his mark Signed Sealed and published in presence of R. W. Ridley comes as a witness to the within writing purporting to be the last will of G. P. Buffington, and being duly sworn saith that he with R. W. McGinty and E. B. Reeves at the request of G. P. Buffington and in his presence did attest as witnesses the within writing as his G. P. Buffington’s last will, that the same was signed and published by G. P. Buffington in their presence as his last will, that he was at this time of Said attestation and Signing by himself of Sound and disposing mind and memory, that he executed the within paper voluntarily G.
