Cauthen of said state and county being weak and feeble in body but of sound and disposing mind and memory do make this my last will and testament. Item 1st. I give my soul to God trusting in the merits of a crucified redeemer. Item 2nd. I wish all my just debts and funeral expenses to be just paid. Item 3rd. After payment of my just debts my will and desire is that my executor hereinafter named to pay to my nephew Ebeneser Cauthen the sum of two hundred dollars. Item 4th. I give and bequeath to my mother Nancy Cauthen the sum of twenty five dollars and to the mother of my wife, Nancy F. Pearson the sum of twenty five dollars . Item 5th. I desire and desired that my mercantile business be wound up as soon as possible and that all of my other business be carried on as at present keeping everything together just as it is together. Item 6th. I charge my estate with all expenses for board, clothing and tuition of my daughter Estelle until her education is completed and then I desire my whole estate divided between her and my beloved wife sarah to equally share and share alike. Item 7th. I nominate, constitute and appoint my brother J. F. Cauthen and my friend W.B. Lynn Executor of this my last will. In witness whereof I have hereunto sit my hand this 6th day of June 1883. Cauthen sign and publish the within and foregoing as his last will and testament while of sound and disposing mind and memory, that they witnessed the same for him at his request and in the presence of each other as well as of the other witness who also in like manner did the same and that the same was executed voluntarily by him on the day it purports to have been executed.
