Amen. I Agnes Dozier of the County and State aforesaid being of sound mind and memory but knowing the uncertainty of and conditions of life do make ordain and publish this my last will and testament. Item 1st I give and bequeath unto my beloved grand daughters Caroline E. W. Oeta wife of (?Ornthal Oetha) and Sarah R. Williams, wife of Jonathan Williams one hundred Dollars each. Item 2nd I give and bequeath unto my beloved grand daughter Mary E. Clayton wife of John B. Clayton, my Negro woman Tansy about twenty four years of age and her children to wit: Ann about six years of age. Jack a boy about 3 years old and Lidia an infant child about two years old to have and to hold during her natural life not subject to the control of her husband or any future husband and at her death if the said Mary E. Clayton died without child or children said Negro property with their increase to revert back to my estate and be equally divided among the children of my beloved daughter Martha W. Redding. Item 3rd After the payment of all my just debts - I do give and bequeath unto my beloved daughter Martha W. Redding widow of the late John Redding all the balance of my property including all my negros not above disposed of. My household and kitchen furniture farming utensils. Crop on hand Stock and provisions together with all and every Species of property that I may be possessed of at the time of my decease with all the natural increase thereto to have and to hold the said negros and other property to the sole and separate use benefit and behoof of the said Martha W. Redding for and during her natural life not subject to the debts or Contracts of any husband she may hereafter have: and at her death all the foregoing property to be equally divided between her children excepting her daughter Mary E. Clayton who has been provided for in the second item of this my will and as the said Martha W. Reddings children becomes of lawful age or gets married she may give off to them such portion of said property as in her judgment may seem right. making an equal distribution share of the whole of said property. Item 4th For the purpose of carrying unto affect this my last will and testament I do hereby appoint and constitute William P. Taylor and my grand son Charlie F. Redding Executors to this my last will and Testament hereby revoking all former will or wills. And it is further my will and desire that my grandson William D. Redding shall act as trustee for my beloved daughter Martha W. Redding with full power and authority to do and every act or thing necessary for the protection of her rights and the property herein bequeathed as well as the carrying into to effect all my intrust business set forth this 16th. day of October 1849- her mark Agnes X Dozier (seal) Signed, sealed, declared and published by Agnes Dozier as her last will and Testament in the presence of us the subscribed who subscribed our name hereto in the presence of said testatrix (at her special instance and request) and of each other this 16th day of October 1849- Chas H. Johnson Thomas J. Barrett Wiley E. Mangham Pike Court of Ordinary November Term 1850 present their Benson Roberts William O. Hendrick and John H. Akins - Justices in person comes Thomas J. Barrett and Wiley E. Mangham in open Court who being duly sworn deposeth and saith that they saw Agnes Dozier sign and seal and heard her publish and declare the within writing to be and contain her last will and testament that she signed sealed and published and declared the same as her last will and testament in the presence of Charles H. Johnson and their deponents and that said Charles H. Johnson together with their deponents subscribed the same as witnesses at the request of the testatrix and in her presence and in the presence of each other and that said Agnes Dozier executed the same freely voluntarily and without any manner of compulsion. Redding do solemnly swear that this writing contains the true last will and testament of the within named Agnes Dozier deceased so far as we know or believe and that we will well and truly execute the same by paying first the debts and then the legacies contained in said will as far as his goods and chattels will thereunto extend and the law charges us and that we will make a true and perfect inventory of all such goods and chattels so help us God.
