Gregg Georgia Pike County I John D. Gregg of said State and County being of sound and disposing mind & memory do make this my last Will and Testament. Item 1st I give & bequeath & devise to my wife Candis N. Gregg, during her natural life, all the lands belonging to me. Except one hundred and seventy acres deeded to my son W. J. Gregg & son in law, J. W. Middlebrook for the purpose of settling my debts & the amount of land I will to my wife is one hundred and sixty five acres more or less. This is to be used to her own proper use for support during her lifetime and at her death, then to be sold and equally divided between my four children respectively W. J. Gregg, Virginia D. Kenney [?[, Ada Williams and Annie Middlebrook and if either of these my children should die then their part of this estate to be to their heirs John D. Gregg his mark Witnesses J. J. Johnson J. B. Reynolds Jr. J. T. Beckham J.P. Georgia Pike County Personally come before me J. B. Reynolds Jr. who being duly sworn deposes and says that he is one of the witnesses to the last will and testament of J. D. Gregg deceased. That he with J. J. Johnson and J. T. Beckham at the request of J. D. Gregg and in his presence did attest as witnesses the within writing as his J. D. Gregg’s last will. That the same was signed and published in their presence by John D. Gregg as his last will & testament that he was at the time of said attestation & signing by himself of sound and disposing mind and memory and that he executed the within paper voluntarily J. B.
