Barett [Barette] Georgia Pike County I Samuel H. Barett of said state & county being of advanced age, but of sound and disposing mind and memory, deem it right and proper that I should make a disposition of the property that I possess, and for this purpose do make this my last will and testament Item 1st I hereby give and bequeath to my grand children Walter Hanson and Charles Clayton Rose, children of my daughter Lizzie Rose now deceased, Fifty acres of land in the south west corner of lot of land No. ninety six (96) in the 9th district of said county. The said Walter Hanson & Charles Clayton to share and share alike in said land. Item 2nd I will, give, and bequeath to my daughter Annie Williams Wife of J. W. Williams, the remainder of said lot of land No. 96, after the fifty acres have been measured off for my said grand children as provided for in the first Item of this my will. My said daughter to have and to hold said land during her natural life, after her death the same to be equally divided between her children, the children if any of any of her deceased children, to take the same interest as their parents would have done if in life Item 3rd The remainder of my property of every kind & description I hereby will give and bequeath to my said daughter Annie Williams to do with as she sees proper Item 4 I want my just debts paid by my Executor herein after appointed Item 5 I hereby appoint my Friend J. L. Alldredge as the executor of this my last will and testament Witness my hand and seal this the 7th day of January 1898 Samuel H. Barett Signed sealed declared and published by Samuel H. Barett as his last will and testament in our presence as attending witnesses he signing said will in the presence of each of us and each of us in his presence and in the presence of each other this 7th day of Jany 1898 J. Jones who being duly sworn deposes and says that he is one of the witnesses to the last will and testament of Samuel H. Barett. That he with M. A. Willis & J. L. Alldredge at the request of Samuel H. Barett and in his presence did attest as witness the within writing as his, Samuel H. Barett’s will. That the same was signed and published by Samuel H. Barett in their presence as his last will, that he was at the time of said attestation and signing by himself of sound and disposing mind and memory That he executed the within papers voluntarily Sworn to & subscribed to before me this January 27th 1898 A. H. Jones Georgia Pike County I J. L. Alldredge do solemnly swear that this writing contains the true last will and testament of Smauel H. Barett, decd.
