I John D. Lowery of the County of Pike and the State of Georgia being of sound mind and memory do therefore make publish and declare this to be my last will and testament. First I desire all my lawful debts to be paid and my remains to be decently interred in masonick (sp) form on the northeast corner of the _?_ jointly owned by myself and Thomas Reavis my _?_ enclosed with marble with the usual(?) inscription of birth age upon the half or corner of the enclosure. Second The residue of my Estate both real and personal many notes and accounts I give and bequeath to Thomas Reavis likewise I make constitute and appoint the said Thomas Reavis to be Executor of this my last will and Testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my hand and affixed my seal this twelfth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and and fifty four. John D. Lowery The above and foregoing instrument was subscribed by said John D. Lowery in our presence and acknowledged by him to each of us and that he at the same time published and declared the above instrument so subscribed to be his last will and testament and we at the Testators request and in his presence have signed our names as witnesses hereto Allison Spier J.A. Williams F.M. Fleming State of Georgia Pike County We Allison Spier Jesse A. Williams and Francis M. Fleming do solemnly swear that we saw John D. Lowery sign and seal and heard him publish and declare this writing to be and contain his will and at the time thereof he was of sound disposing mind and memory and that he did it freely without compulsion to the best of our knowledge and belief. Mangham Ordinary State of Georgia Pike County I Thomas Reavis do solemnly swear that this writing contains the true last will and testament of John D. Lowery late of said County deceased so far as I know or believe and that I will well and truly execute the same by paying first the debts and then the legacies contained in said will as far as his goods and chattels will thereunto extend and the law charges me and that I will make a true and perfect inventory of all such goods and chattels so help me God.
