Item 1st I will and bequeath that after my death, all of my just debts be paid, by my Executors hereinafter named. Item 2nd I will and bequeath that all of my property both real and personal be sold to the highest bider and the proceeds be equally divided between all of my children David J. Hood, William D. Hood, James A. Hood, Henry T. Hood, Mary F. P. Stearns, Sarah J. M. Nelson and Martha Hood. Item 3rd. My will wish and desire is that the Executors herein named, give to Fannie Innes formerly the wife of my son R. F. Hood, Five Dollars. Item 4th I will that the portion falling to my daughter Permela Stearns is hers and her children not subject to the debts of her present or any future husband. Item 5th My will is that my daughter Martha Hood take care of a certain set of Silver tea spoons as a matter of respect for the giver. Item 6th It is my will that a deed of gift bearing date the 31st of December 1872 is still of force and that I want said gift carried out. Item 7th My will is that my son Jas A. Hood and my friend J. A. Williams act as my executors and carry out this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I Eli Hood has herein to sit my hand and declaring this writing to be his will the 23 December 1878. Eli Hood (seal) We the undersigned saw Eli Hood sign and seal and heard him say and publish and declare this writing to contain his last will & Testament and that we signed the same in his presence and in the presence of each other, at his request the 23d December 1878. Blake and the will having been before that time brought before me for probate by the executors J. A. Hood and J. A. Williams who have billed a petition for probate of the same, the said witness deposes and of the same that he saw said Eli Hood sign and publish the same as his last will and Testament in the day and the year there stated as Executed by him that he witnessed the same at his request in his presence that the same was voluntarily executed by him while he was of sound and disposing mind and memory.
