Jones being of Sound mind does by these present make and write this my last Will and Testament I will that after my death all of my perishable property be sold, consisting of mules, horses, cows, hogs, Wagons buggys and farming implements be sold and all my debts paid also all corn fodder and other forage except as otherwise provided fo. That all my real estate where I now live be sold, and after all my debts are paid then the remainder be equally divided between my Wife Mrs. Saphronia Jones and the heirs of my body, to wit: Arthur C. Jones, Minnie L. Chapman, A. B. Jones, Briana[?] Lifsey, Eunice E. Chambers, Ewell C. Jones and Myrtle Williamson I bequeath my wife Sophronia my Meansville property consisting of 4 acres of Land more or less, and all improvements , during her natural life or widowhood. At her death or marriage then it is my will that the house known as the Sims house and one acre of land be set apart for a home for my daughter, Minnie L. Chapman during her single life if she should marry, then it shall be sold and the proceeds divided among my heirs. At my wifes death or marriage the remainder of said place to be sold and proceeds divided. I will that my wife Sophronia shall have all household goods or such a part as she may elect, also one cow & calf and a sufficiency of food for the same for 12 months also a sufficient supply of Provisions for 12 months support. I give my Gold headed cane to my son Ewell C. Jones, my son Arthur C. Jones I give my shotgun, to A. R. Jones I give my Winchester Rifle also my Fathers pruning[?] knife with the request that it be handed down as a family souvenir [?], it was bought about the year 1850 or 51 or 2. To my daughter Minnie I give my pistol My daughter Briana I give my organ, my daughter Eunice I give my watch, my daughter Myrtle I give my parlor rifle also all of my Confederate souvenirs such as button badges ect. I appoint my son A. C. Jones and my son in law Aldine Chambers my Executors with the will annexed and they receive no fee for their service. I will that my real estate be sold public or private as the majority of my sons and sons in law direct if they can’t agree, then my Executors shall proceed to administer and sell according to law and receive such compensation as the law provides. It is my will that my wife Sophronia keep the piano as other furniture and after her death or marriage that it be sold with all other goods and chattels and the proceeds equally divided among the heirs of my body. Slade named as a witness to the within writing purporting to be Thos. Z. Jones last will and being duly sworn saith that he with W. A. Geiger and W. W. Maddox at the request of Thomas Z. Jones and in his presence and in the presence of each other did attest as witnesses the within writing as his will that the same was signed and published by Thos. Z. Jones in their presence as his last will that he was at the time of said attestation and signing by him of sound and disposing mind and memory; that he executed the within paper voluntarily E. M.
