F. Matthews, of said state and county being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make this my last will and testament, hereby revoking and annulling all others which may have been made by me. Item 1st I desire and direct that my body be buried in a decent and Christian like manner, suitable to my circumstances and conditions in life Item 2nd I desire and direct that all my just debts if any, to be paid without unnecessary delay by my executors. Item 3rd I give, bequeath and devise to my wife Clara W. Matthews, for and during her natural life or widowhood, the following property, which shall be in lieu of [_] viz: All my household and kitchen furniture, and four houses and lots described as follows: The house and lot where I now live, located on the North side of Forsyth St. and bounded North and East by other lots belonging to me, South by Forsyth St. and West by lots of Mrs. Ben Pack [?] and H. G. Jordan. Also a house and lot located on the North side of said St., known as the Baird place, bounded North by lot of Mrs. Childs, on East by lot of Mrs. Bebe [?] Owens, and South by Forsyth St. , and West by another lot belonging to me. Also two houses and lots located on the South side of Ann St. adjoining each other, the two lots bounded as follows: North by said Ann St., East by lot of Mrs. Childs, South by my lot and West by lot of H. G. Jordan. The above property given to my said wife for and during her natural life, and at her death or in the event she should marry again, the same shall revert to my estate and be equally divided between my children and heirs at law. Except the household and kitchen furniture shall belong to my wife absolutely to use or dispose of as she sees fit. Item 4th I give and bequeath to my son, C. H. Matthews one thousand ($1000.00) dollars, same to be paid to him in money, out of the residue of my estate and before the division of same is made as herein after directed. And I give this to him, this amount over and above his equal share with the rest of my children, because of his misfortune in the loss of his arm. Item 5th All of my estate of whatever kind or character which I may die seized or possessed of or to which I am entitled (except that willed to my wife herein and the $1000.00 to my son C. H. Matthews) shall after my death be sold and equally divided among my children. And if any one of my children should die before I do, leaving a child or children then my said grand children shall take the portion which should have gone to their parents. My Executors herein after named may sell my said estate either at public or private as they or a majority of them may think best, having in view always the best interests of all the heirs and legatees. In selling lands my Executors are hereby authorized and empowered to make and execute deeds of conveyance to the purchaser without any order of any Court. Item 6th I have some old notes against some of my children but the same have all been settled and cancelled and I desire that id any such note or notes appear in the hands of my executors, the same shall be destroyed or surrendered to the one giving same. Item 7th I hereby constitute and appoint my sons R. G. Matthews and C. H. Matthews, and my son in law Thad Adams executors of this my last will and testament and hereby expressly confer upon them or a majority of them the power and authority to administer my estate without giving and [_] or making any returns pertaining there to. In making sales of any of the property of my estate it is directed that same be done without any order of court and my said executors shall; or a majority of them may make any and all decisions and conveyance necessary in the transfer of property to purchaser, this the second day of August 1910. Matthews as his last will and testament in the presence of us the undersigned who subscribe our names hereto in the presence of said Testator, after he had signed his name thereto, and at his special instance and request, and in the presence of each other. Matthews decst., who being duly sworn depose and say that they did on the 2nd day of August 1910 attest as witnesses the within writing in the presence of P. F. Matthews who in their presence voluntarily signed and published the same as his last will and that the said P. F.
