Item 2 I will bequeath and devise unto my son Absalom B. Beckham one sixth part of all my estate real and personal after deducting five hundred dollars (being the estimated value of Tom a Negro man heretofore given and advanced to him) to have and to hold his (?) and assigned forever. Item 3 I will bequeath and devise unto my daughter Caroline D. Beckham one sixth part of all my estate real and personal independently and exclusive of Mary Ann, a Negro heretofore granted and conveyed to her for and in consideration of her services which is not to be considered an advancement to her and to (?) to her heirs (?) and assign forever. Item 4 I will devise and bequeath unto my daughter Sally Ready one sixth part to be paid to her in monies the amount of the same to be ascertained and determined by the valuation and appraisement of my estate after my death under the Order of the Ordinary to have and to hold to her, her heirs and assigns forever. Item 5 I will bequeath and devise unto my Executers herein after named and the survivor of these one sixth part of all my estate real and personal after deducting five hundred dollars (the estimated value of Emeline a Negro I have heretofore given and advanced to Trustees for my daughter Adela Porter, wife of Archibald A. Porter) in trust but only in trust, to and for the sole and separate use of my said daughter Adela for and during her natural life not subject to the debts or control of her present or any future husband and after her death I will the remainder of such property to her children, share and share alike and their heirs forever free from any trust or confidence whatever. Item 6 I will bequeath and devise unto my Executors herein after named and the survivor of them one sixth part of all my estate real and personal in trust and only in trust to and for the use of my daughter Maria, wife of Seaborn M. Crawford, not subject to the debts or control of her present or any future husband, for and during her natural life and after her death I will the remainder of said property to her children if any, share and share alike and their heirs and assigns, but if not any (?) to her heirs and assigns for use free from any trust or (?) whatever. Item 7 I will bequeath and devise unto my Executors hereto after named and the survivor of them one sixth part of all my estate real and personal, after deducting five hundred dollars (the estimated value of Amy a Negro slave heretofore given to my daughter Nancy Scoggins, wife of James Scoggins) in trust and only in trust to and for the sole and separate use of my Grandson Absalom Smith Scoggins for and during his natural life and no longer, and after the death of the said Absalom Smith Scoggins I will the remainder of said property to the children of my said daughter Nancy Scoggins forever free from any trust or confidence whatever and in case Absalom Smith Scoggins (?) die before his mother the said Nancy Scoggins I then will that my said Executors and the survivor of them shall hold the above property in trust and only in trust to and for the sole and separate use of the said Nancy Scoggins not subject to the debts or control of her present and any future husband for and during her natural life and no longer and after her death I will that the remainder go to her children as above stated. Item 8 I appoint Absalom B. Beckham and William Chany Beckham Executors of this my last Will and Testament (?) their acceptance of the same. In witness (?) I leave (?) unto (?) Seal thirteenth of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty-three.
