I Beverly Bryam being of sound memory and sound mind do make the following my last will and testament. I commit my soul to God and my body to the grass, and I do herein enjoin my executors herein after to be named, to cause my remains to be decently buried and the expenses thereof paid out of the effects which may come into his hands after my death. I give and bequeath to my son James Byram all the lands of which I am possessed it being the same whereon I now live, to him and his lawful heirs also a Negro boy named George or known by the name Young George also one of my best horses and our sow and pigs which he shall select - also one thousand pounds pork or bacon as shall be found after my decease, also ten barrels of corn and fifteen bushels of wheat if so much remains at the time of my decease, and I also give jointly to my son James Byram and John Park (Parks) my yoke of oxen and cart. Then it is my will that my executor herein after to be named take in charge all the effects which I may die possessed of to _?_ and collect all debts due me and to make sale of all the property both real and personal at the best interest of my creditors and heirs shall demand and that he first pay out of the funds so raised the expenses of any funeral than all my just debts as the law provides and it is further _?_ _?_ will that my executor herein after to be named do forthwith and cause to be done all and severally _?_ I have injured and with the least delay _?_ hereto from _?_ will immediately equally distribute among my other lawful heirs the remainder of whatever was in _?_ except such as shall be barred by claims I hold against them as shall in justice appear. I now hereby and herein appoint and constitute my beloved friend Caduman(?) Pope to be my lawful executor to this my last will ands testament. B. Byram Signed and sealed in presence of John W. Howell(?), Alexander Irvin and Jesse Hatcher do solemnly swear that we saw Beverly Byram sign, seal, publish and declare this writing to be and contain his will and at the time thereof he was of sound disposing mind and memory and that he did it without compulsion to the best of our knowledge and that we saw Beverly Manord sign the same as witness.
