C. Johnson in the name of Almighty God do make this my last will and testament hereby _?_ and revoking all others hereto fore made by me. Item First I wish all my just debts be paid as soon as practicable. Item Second I will to my beloved wife Harriet R. Johnson for and during her natural life a tract on lot of land being 150 acres or _?_ fourth of lot N.128 in the third district of formerly (this next word in blacked out) now Pike County it being the place whereon we now reside on mile from Griffin, Lot land N 487 in the 17th district and 3rd section of Cobb County containing 80 acres, also one undivided half of lot land N. 20 in the _?_ district of Appling - our Negro boy by the name of Lewis about twenty years old and our Negro boy named Dick about 17 years old together with all my livestock, farming implements, household and kitchen furniture for her benefit and support and for the support and of _?_ my children Harriet Elizabeth, Marcus William, Rufus Pope, Joseph _?_, Wilborn Fisk, Mary Ann, Francis Lucinda, Michael Raven, and Julia Antonette. Item Third I will that my wife in connection with my executor shall be permitted at any time to sell or exchange for another property, any portion of the above named property as they may judge necessary provided the proceeds thereof be applied to no other objects _?_ _?_ provided for in this my will. Item Fourth I further will that at the death of my wife Harriet R. Johnson all my estate as mentioned in Item Second or the proceeds thereof shall be sold and the proceeds thereof equally divided among my children whose names are written in the Second Item of this my will. Item Fifth I hereby constitute and appoint my beloved wife Harriet R. Johnson executrix and my beloved brother Russell W. Johnson executor to this my last will and testament. Marcus D. Johnson sign seal publish and declare this writing to be and contain his will and at the time thereof he was of sound disposing mind and memory that he did so freely without compulsion to the best of our knowledge and that we saw J. Johnson deceased so far as I know or believe and that I will well and truly execute the same by paying first the debts and then the legacies contained in said will as far as his goods and chattels will thereunto extend and the law charges me and that I will make a true and perfect inventory of all such goods and chattels so help me God.
