I will my beloved wife Matilda Harden my executrix on my estate - first shall pay my just debts, next I will that Henry _?_ Harden have five dollars - next I will that Hillard J. Harden have five dollars - next I will that Elizabeth Thompson have five dollars - next I will that Mary Griver(?) have five dollars - next I will that Hiram D. Harden have five dollars. I next will and bequeath all of my estate both real and personal consisting of land-horses- cows-_?_ oxen - hogs -household and kitchen furniture to Matilda Harden my beloved wife for lifetime, at her death, to the lawful heirs of her body, to have equal shares at her death and no others - I will no administration(?) on my estate until the death of my wife. Brown do solemnly swear that we saw James Harden (by making his mark) sign seal and heard him publish and declare to be and contain his will that at the time thereof he was of sound disposing mind and memory that he did it freely without compulsion to the best of our knowledge. Brown Attest in open court this 7th day of July 1851 State of Georgia Pike County I Matilda Harden do solemnly swear that this writing contains the true last will and testament of James Harden deceased so far as I know or believe and that I will and truly execute the same by paying first the debts and then the legacies contained in said will as far as his goods and chattels will thereunto extend and the law charges me and that I will make a true and perfect inventory of such goods and chattels so help me God.
