I Tabitha Baker knowing that every human beig must die, do make this my last will testament. First I will and bequeath to the lawful child or children, now in being or hereafter to be born, of my son Ramon(?) Christian the following property, a Negro girl by the name of Ann and a Negro boy by the name of John, which property I wish my son Ramon(?) Christian to retain the _?_ of during his life. Second I will and bequeath to my grand children Tabita Williams, Nathan Williams and Frances Williams, a Negro woman by the name of Peg and a Negro boy by the name of George and a Negro girl by the name of Emily: which said Negroes it is my will and desire that my daughter Susan Williams shall retain in her possession during her life. Third I will and bequeath to my son James Christian the following property, a Negro man named Hal, a Negro woman by the name of Judy, and a Negro boy by the name of B--?, also a Negro boy named Jeff and a Negro girl named Sidney. I also will and bequeath to my son James Christian the half lot of land on which I now live in Pike County. Fourthly I give and bequeath to my grandson Littleberry W. Baker, a Negro boy named Harry, also a promissory note made by Tabitha Williams and payable to Nathan Baker which note is for about three hundred and seventy or eighty dollars, which said promissory note is designed as a payment of a debt which the said Littleberry W. Baker has against the estate of Nathan Baker. And if the Littleberry W. Baker accepts said promissory note he is extinguished of the debt he holds against the said estate of Nathan Baker (which I know I cannot compel him to do), then my executors are to deliver him the Negro boy Harry and the said note which are to be forever his property. But if the said Littleberry W. Baker will not accept said note in payment of said debt as _?_ then and in that event my executors are to take the Negro boy Harry and sell him and collect the aforesaid promissory note and pay the said debts due by the estate of Nathan Baker to the said Littleberry W. Baker. Fifth I will and bequeath to my grandson John H. Baker a Negro boy named Crayton, also a Negro girl named Sarah, also one bed and furniture and also a horse with seventy dollars and whereas the said John H. Baker has a demand against the estate of Nathan Baker, the amount not exactly known, now the Negro girl Sarah is designed by me as a payment to the said John H. Baker of said debt, but if the said John H. Baker will not accept said Negro girl Sarah as a payment of said debt against the estate of Nathan Baker, then my executors are hereby required to take said Negro girl Sarah and sell her and pay the said debt with the proceeds. Sixth It is my further will and desire that all my other property not specially herein mentioned both real and personal shall be sold by my executors and the proceeds thereof equally divided among my children. I also nominate and appoint my sons James Christian and Ramon(?) Christian executors to this my last will and testament. signed sealed and declared in the presence of Allen W. Prior John Caldwell(?) Prior, John Caldwell(?) and Robert Smith do swear that we saw Tabitha Baker sign seal publish and declare this writing to be and contain her last will and testament that at the time thereof she was of sound disposing mind and memory.
