I Lucy Pryor of said State and County being of sound mind and advanced in age know that I must soon depart this life, make and declare this to be my last will and testament hereby revoking all others made by me. 1st Item I will that all my just debts be paid by my executor here in named. 2nd Item As my other children have been supplied with household and kitchen furniture I will and give to my grand children William R & George L sons of T J Pryor, deceased, all my household and kitchen furniture three cows and calves, ten head of hogs and one gold watch. 3rd Item I will that the 9th District Land and what is known as the Coats place and the land near Z T Scott (bounded as follows commence at a rock corner and run east with the fence to Nelson's line thence with Nelson's land to Z T Scotts land then west to the big road then with the Zebulon road to the place of beginning at the rock corner) to be sold and after paying just debts & expenses of administration divided between my daughter Elizabeth Holmes and her two children J C & E C Crawford. The Crawford boys each to have one sixth (1/6) paid to them by my executor herein after appointed the balance I will paid to my daughter Elizabeth Holmes. Item 4th The balance of my land I will to William R and George L sons of T J Pryor, deceased. Item 5th I hereby constitute and appoint my friend J A Williams my executor to carry out this my last will and testament. I also request the said J A Williams to act as Guardian for William R and George L sons of T J Pryor deceased. Item 6 The residue of my property not disposed in this will I want sold and divided between my daughter Elizabeth Holmes and J.C. & E.C. Crawford in proportion to the division mentioned in Item 3rd. 7th Item In justice to myself it is right and proper to say that I have demands against A.J. & Madison Pryor for more than the other children will get said demands will accompany this will. Lucy Pryor (seal) Signed, Sealed, declared and published by Lucy Pryor as her last will and testament in the presence of the subscribers who subscribe our names in the presence of testator and in each others presence February 12th 1881 E N Huckaby W S Scott Josephus Coggin State of Georgia County of Pike} Before me came E N Huckaby named as a witness to the within writing purported to be Lucy Pryors last will and being duly sworn saith that he with W S Scott and Josephus Coggin at the request of Lucy Pryor and in her presence did attest as witnesses the within writing as hers Lucy Pryors will that the same was signed and published by Lucy Pryor in their presence as her last will- that she was at the time of sound and disposing mind and memory and executed the within paper voluntarily. E N Huckaby Subscribed and sworn to before me in open court December 7th 1885} Harry Wells Ordinary Codicil to Will. I Lucy Pryor do make this codicil to my last will and testament dated above (i.e. 12th February 1881) I will that my executor heretofore names have erected over my grave and the grave of my son Thomas J Pryor suitable rock boxes not to exceed fifty dollars cost to be paid by my executor. Josephus Coggin A W Blake B M Owen State of Georgia Pike County} Before me came B M Owen named as a witness to the within writing purported to be a codicil to the last will of Lucy Pryor and being duly sworn saith that he with Josephus Coggin and A W Blake at the request of Lucy Pryor and in her presence did attest as witnesses the within writing as codicil to hers Lucy Pryors will- that the same was signed and published by Lucy Pryor in their presence as codicil to her will- that she was at the time of sound and disposing mind and executed the within paper voluntarily. B M Owen Subscribed and sworn to before me in open court December 7th 1885} Harry Wells Ordinary Georgia Pike County} I do solemnly swear that this writing contains the true last will of the within named Lucy Pryor deceased so far as I know or believe and that I will well and truly execute the same in accordance with the law of this State So help me God. J A Williams Sworn to & subscribed before me December 7th 1885} Harry Wells Ordinary Recorded December 8th 1885 Harry Wells Ordinary Georgia Pike County} To the ordinary of said county. the petition of J A Williams as guardian testamentary appointed by Lucy Pryor testator for Willie and George Pryor showeth that at the December Term of the court of ordinary the said J A Williams was appointed executor of the last will and testament of Lucy Pryor deceased and qualified as such and the said J A Williams now comes into court and renounces said guardianship of Willie & George Pryor. The said J A Williams is willing to continue to execute the will of Lucy Pryor deceased.
