Item 1 I desire and direct that my body be buried in a decent and Christian like manner my soul I trust shall return to rest with God who gave it. Item 2 I desire and direct that all my just debts be paid without delay by my executors hereinafter appointed as I am unwilling my creditors should be delayed in their right as there is no _?_ for delay. Item 3 I wish for my executors to sell the lot of land whereon I now live in the above State and County N0. thirty four containing two hundred and a half acres to the highest bidder and the proceeds of said land to be equally divided between all my children agreeable to the receipts that I have on each child of the amount I have paid them heretofore, to wit Peter Cooper, George B. Cooper, Nancy Wise, Jolen Grisham, Andy Cooper' wife and Margaret Hill to them and their heirs forever. Item 4 I wish for my executors to sell all my _?_ household and kitchen furniture, stock of all kinds, plantation tools, and divide the proceeds equally between all the above named children agreeable to their amount. Item 5 I give to my son Peter Cooper my three Negroes to wit, Aron a man about sixty years old, Isabel a Negro woman about fifty and a boy by the name of Moby(?) about twenty years of age to be appraised by disinterested men and for him to take them at the appraisement to him and his heirs forever. Item 6 I wish for my executors to charge to William F. Hill two hundred and fifty dollars in a note that I paid for him as a portion of his legacy which note I have lost. Item 7 I hereby constitute and appoint my sond Peter Cooper, George B. Cooper and John Grisham executors to this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twelfth day of September in the year of our Lord 1848. A. Cooper Signed sealed declared and published by Adam Cooper as his last will and testament in the presence of us the subscribers who subscribed our names hereto in the presence of said Testator at his special instance and request and each other this 12th day of September 1848. Adkins one of the witnesses do solemnly swear that I saw Adam Cooper sign and seal and heard him publish and declare this writing to be and contain his will and at the time thereof he was of sound disposing mind and memory that he did it freely and without compulsion to the best of my knowledge and belief and that I saw John L. Lasiter, William H. Lasiter, Robert Millican and James M. Lasiter sign the same also as witnesses. Joseph C. Adkins Sworn to and Subscribed in open court this 7th day of January 1854 Wiley E. Mangham Ordinary State of Georgia Pike County I John Grisham do solemnly swear that this writing contains the true last will and testament of Adam Cooper late of said County deceased so far as I know or believe and that I will well and truly execute the same by paying first the debts and then the legacies contained in said will as far as his goods and chattels will hereunto extend and the law charge me and that I will make a true and perfect inventory of all such goods and chattels so help me God.
