I Samuel Ansley of said State and County, being weak in body but of sound perfect mind and memory considering the uncertainty of this _?_ life blessed be Almighty God for the _?_ do make and publish this my last will and testament _?_ manner and form following (that is to say) First I give and bequeath unto my dear beloved wife Mary, Negroes (viz) Holiday, Lizabeth, Sarah, Nanny, _?_ and their increase and all of the land on which _?_ _?_ three hundred and ninety five acres and after all my just debts are paid I give and bequeath unto my dear wife the stock of all kind and goods and chattels of what kind and nature so ever during her natural life of widowhood in case she should die or marry the property must be equally distributed among all the children, she an equal part with the rest. I do also give and bequeath unto my daughter Martha Bryan and Jasper Bryan, one Negro girl named Mariah and her increase, the girl to be taken at her present value as a part of their legacies, I also give unto my daughter Mary Ann Ansley a Negro girl called Amy and her increase to be taken at her present value as a part of her legacy when my estate is divided. I also wish all the boys if they will be industrious and obliging to their mother to have a horse and saddle and in case any of the children should marry and stand in need of a bed and cow and calf, for them to have them and for the executors to keep an account of what each child received as when my estate is divided that they can all come to an equal distribution. I leave _?_ forty acres of land in the thirteenth district of Cherokee First Section No. 105 to be sold or equally distributed amongst all of the children, I do hereby appoint my dear wife with my son Jonah and Jasper Bryan executrix and executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made, in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 20th day of March 1837. Smith, and _?_ Jordan ordered that the same be admitted to record. Georgia Pike County We Mary Ansley, Jonah Ansley, and Jasper Bryan do solemnly swear that this writing contains the true last will of the within named Samuel Ansley deceased so far as we know or believe and that we will truly execute the same by paying first the debts and then the legacies contained in said will, as far as his goods and chattels will thereunto extend and the law charges us and that we will make a true and perfect inventory of all such goods and chattels so help us God.
