Item 2 My soul I give to God, trusting in the merits of the atonement of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ- My just debts I direct to be paid as soon after my death as practical, by my executrix herein after named. Item 3rd I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Elizabeth Perkins my home place where I now live in Hollonville Ga. containing about one hundred acres & also my place in the first district of Pike County known are the Orin Jones place also the store house & lot in Hollonville, known as the concrete store house, now occupied by T.J. Marshall and also the dwelling house in Hollonville and the lot on which the same in situation now occupied by said Marshall & also my house hold and kitchen furniture, except Piano. The lands here in bequeathed to my said wife is bequeathed to her for and during her natural life, to have use and occupy & enjoy. The use rents issues & proceeds of the same and at her death, the same is to be the property of my beloved daughters Miss Bell & Anna R Perkins. The personal property, bequeathed herein to my said wife, is to be hers absolutely in her own right. Item 3rd I give & bequeath unto my beloved daughter Anna R Perkins my place which is situated in Line creek district in Spalding County Ga. known as the Doolan place, containing two lots and fifty acres off of an other lot and ninety six acres a fractional lot all being in one body and bounded north by Coppage East by Drewry, Putnam & McKneely, south Drewry & West by Whatley fractions This tract contains five hundred and ninety six acres except four acres deeded to Coppedge and four acres deeded to B W Williams & one acre to the Negro church & also my piano & such other furniture which I have heretofore given to her The land herein bequeathed to my daughter Anna R Perkins, is bequeathed to her for and during her natural life, to have use occupy & enjoy the use, rents, issues & proffits or proceeds of the same, and at her death the same is to be the property of my beloved daughter Mrs Belle Hooten, And the half interest of the said Anna R Perkins in the property willed to my wife, after my said wife's death is to be the property of the said Anna R Perkins, during her natural life & after her death is also to be the property of my said daughter, Mrs. Belle Hooten, the personal property given to the said Anna Perkins is to be hers in her own right. Item 4th I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter, Mrs. Belle Hooten, my place in the first district of Pike County, known as the Smoot place containing one hundred and sixty three acres, a small fraction of which is in Spalding County Ga bounded north by Dr Owen, East by part of the old Smoot place, South by Johnnie Coggin, West by said Coggin, Thirty six acres of this tract is know as the dower of Joel Hancock's widow. - Also my place in said first District of Pike County, containing one hundred and fifty acres being the place I bought from the G W Jackson estate, bounded by Moore on the north, East by Dunbar, South Coggin & Hooten West by Moore Also the remainder interest, after the termination of the life Estate, bequeathed in this will to my daughter Anna R Perkins, All the interest and property bequeathed in this will to my daughter Belle Hooten, is to be hers during her natural life and after her death, the same is to become and be the property of the children of the said Belle, and to make this bequest the more explicit it is my will and desire that the children of my said daughter Belle Hooten shall have all the property herein bequeathed to my wife and two daughters, after the death of my said wife and two daughters, whether said children be now born or be born hereafter. Item 5 It is my will and desire, that my debts if any be owing after my death, be paid out of the proceeds of my personal property & effects belonging to my estate by sale of the same & if such proceeds be not sufficient for that purpose, then I direct that the remainder left unpaid, be settled from the rents & proceeds of the real Estate Item 6th After the payment of my debts, funeral expenses have been paid, I direct that whatever other property I may own & which is not herein specially bequeathed shall be equally divided between my said wife and two daughters. Item 7 I hereby nominate and appoint my beloved wife Elizabeth Perkins Executrix of this my last will and testament & direct that she shall not be required to make annual returns to the Ordinary of her acts & doings in the management of my estate, In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal at Hollonville in the presents of the witnesses this 28th day of June 1897 James W Perkins (LS) Signed sealed and published and declared in our presents who at the special instance and request of James W Perkins, sign our names hereto as witnesses of the same in the presents of said James W Perkins and in the presents of each other This June 28th 1897 J. Hammond Georgia Pike County} I Elizabeth Perkins do solemnly swear that this writing contains the true last will of the within named James W Perkins deceased so far as or believe and that I will well and truly execute the same in accordance with the statute So help me God.
