I Seabron Covington of the State and County aforesaid being of sound mind and memory do make this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other wills made by me. Item 1st I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Mary Covington the following property (to wit) My Negro woman Milly and her four children and all future increase, the names of the children are as follows Ella, Lawson, Laura, and Buckley together with three thousand dollars in money. Item 2nd I leave to my wife Mary Covington my Negro man Dick and Harry and my Negro woman Susan and the following land. The house and lot where I now live in Barnesville with all the household and kitchen furniture, one hundred and fifty acres of lot of land number one hundred and two in the Seventh district originally Monroe now Pike County, also three head of horses or mules, four cows and yearlings of calves, twenty head of hogs, together with the wagon, cart, buggy, and plantation tools of so much thereof as she may select to have hold the property described in the Item of my will for and during her natural life and at her death to go to my son James Covington and his children and the property and money bequeathed in the first item of this my will is for the sole use and benefit of my wife and at all times subject to her control and disposition. Item 3rd I give and bequeath to my son James Covington and his children the following Negroes (to wit) John, Daniel, Warrick, Dorcas and her four children Amos, Andrew, Theodore, Leatha and Berry and the following land (to wit) one hundred and four acres of lot ninety three lot number one hundred and twenty three, lot number one hundred and twenty one all in the Seventh district of originally Monroe now Pike County and all other of my property real and personal including notes and money not mentioned in this my last will and testament to go to and belonging to my son James Covington and at his death to his children. Item 4th I hereby appoint my wife Mary Covington and my son James Covington my executrix and executor to this my last will and testament in writings whereof I have this day set my hand seal. 12th day of January 1860. Haraway and being duly sworn dispose and say that Seabron Covington signed and sealed the foregoing instrument in their presence, and that they heard him declare the same to contain his last will and testament that he signed the same freely and voluntarily and that he was of sound disposing mind at the time they signed the same at his bequest as witness in his presence and in the presence of each other on the day it purports to be executed.
