1824 Newnan Clerk of Ordinary Office

In the name of God Amen.
I Thomas Trammel of the state of Georgia Pike County being weak in body but of 
sound memory thanks be to God - but calling to mind the mortality of my body 
and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, I do make and ordain 
this my last will and testament - as touching such worldly estate wherewith it 
has pleased God to help me in this life.

First of all I desire that all my just debts should be paid - I give and 
bequeath unto my beloved wife one tract of land whereon she now lives, also my 
house and furniture - also one Negro man named Jack - one Negro woman named 
Mary - one Negro boy named Nelson(?) - one Negro girl named Eily - one Negro 
girl named Eliza - one Negro boy named America - also one Negro man named 
Antony to work the ensuring year 1824 also my stock of cattle , also my stock 
of hogs, also one yoke of oxen, also two horses, also I desire that my son 
Drakeford(?) Trammel should live on the said tract of land during his lifetime 
and at my wifes death for the said tract of land to be sold and equally to be 
divided among my children.   

1st
I also give unto John Trammel my oldest son, one Negro boy named Lumis(?), 
also one Negro girl named Miley.

2nd
I also give unto Drakeford(?) Trammel my son, one Negro boy named Salaam(?)

3rd
I also give unto my daughter Nancy Stroud one Negro boy names Antony after 
this ensuing crop.

4th 
I also give unto daughter Milly Stroud one Negro girl named Jenny.

5th 
I also give unto my son Drakeford(?) Trammel one Negro man named Henry. I also 
_?_ _?_ _?_ the goods and chattels that _?_.

I also give my daughter Nancy Stroud, one Negro woman named Phillis and her 
child names Charles.
I also Appoint John Trammel and Fitsharris(?) Trammel my two sons to be my 
executors

Personally came Wylie J. Sterling, Isaac Cooper, and William Silman before us 
of the Superior court and being duly sworn sayeth that they saw Thomas Trammel 
make his mark and acknowledged the within will to be his last will and 
testament and was sworn to this the 15th October 1833

I do solemnly swear that this writing contains the true last will of the 
within named Thomas Trammel deceased so far as I know or believe that I will 
well and truly execute the same by paying first the debts and then the 
legacies contained in the said will so far as his goods and chattels will 
thereunto extend and that the law charge me and that I will make a true 
inventory of all such goods and chattels so help me God.

 On motion of Farr. H. Trammel executor of Thomas Trammel it is ordered that 
William Stroud, Wade White, James Dickinson, George _?_ and Philip Allen all 
of Clark County be appointed appraisers of said Trammel estate in Clark County 
also _?_ _?_, Eprhraim(?) Mills(?), W.P. Silman, Samuel Black, Isaac Cooper 
and _?_ Gibson be appointed to appraise the estate of Thomas Trammel deceased 
of Pike County.


The last will and testament of Thomas Trammel deceased was exhibited in open 
court and duly proved by the oaths of Wiley J. Sterling, Isaac Cooper and 
William P. Silman (as above) three subscribing witness to the same said will 
was ordered to be recorded and John Trammel and Farr. H. Trammel were 
qualified to execute the same wherefor warrants of appointments were issued as 
above.
