Pike County Probate Court Written: November 5 1874 Recorded: February 1 1875 Will of Martha A. Hugley Georgia Pike County In the name of God Amen. I Martha A. Huguley being of sound mind and disposing memory and deeming it just and proper to dispose of the effects with which a kind providence has blessed me, do make this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all others heretofore made by me. Item 1st I desire my body to be buried in a Christian manner, suitable to my condition in life, My Soul I commit to God, humbly trusting for Eternal life, through the merits of my blessed Saviors Item 2 I give, bequeath, and devise to my sister Emma A. Porch two thirds of my plantation, and half interest in the Mill streets [sp] attached, with all the rights numbers and appurtenances to the same belonging, to have and to hold the same for and during her natural life, and at her death to all her children share and share alike. But if my sister should die without children the [--?--] to my three brothers, share alike, to wit Zachariah, George , and John. The plantation and Mill named are lying, being and situated in the County of Upson number and district not known, whereupon H. L. Foxworth now resides. Item 3 I give bequeath and devise to my brother George E. Huguley all my other property whatever and otherwise both real and personal or money, torts, bonds or other evidence of debts, after paying all my just debts, with all and singular, the rights members and appurtenances to the same in any manner belonging to his own proper use, benefit and behoof, for and during his natural life and after his death to all his children, share and share alike. But should my said Brother George E. decease without children then and in that case, the property to pass to my three brothers Zachariah, George, and John, in the manner as provided in Item two in my sister Emma’s case. Item 4 I hereby constitute and appoint my brother George E. Huguley Trustee for my sister Emma, to manage the property herein devised to her and Executor of this my last Will and Testament. This 5th day of November 1874 Martha A. Huguley Signed Sealed declared and published by Martha A. Huguley as her last Will and Testament in the presence of the undersigned who subscribed the same in the presence of the Testatrix at her instance and request, and in the presence of each other. This 5th November 1874 James B. Hanson Geo. M. M. McDowell W. M. Carten State of Georgia Pike County We James B. Hansen W. M. Carten and Geo. M. M. McDowell do solemny swear that we saw Martha A. Huguley sign and seal and heard her publish and declare this writing to be and contain her last Will and Testament and at the time thereof she was of sound disposing mind and memory and that she did it freely without compulsion to the best of our knowledge and belief and that we signed the same in each others presence and in the presence of the Testatrix James B. Huguley do solemnly swear that this writing contains the true last Will and Testament of Martha A. Huguley and that I will well and truly execute the same by paying first the debts and then the Legacies contained in said Will as far as her goods and chattel will thereunto extend, and the law charges me and that I will make a true and perfect inventory of all such goods and chattels so help me God G.
