I Stokes Allen being weak & infirm of body but sound of mind & memory and knowing that it is appointed unto all me to die do make ordain & appoint this my last will and testament to wit 1st I commend my soul to God who gave it & my body to the dust from where it came 2nd I desire my executors to pay all my just debts, these debts to be paid out of money due me in Oglethorpe if their [sp] is not enough to discharge my debts to be raised [?] at home 3rd I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Revis one mare, one cow & calf one trunk one bridle, one bed weighing forty two pounds and furniture all of which property she has received 4th I give and bequeath unto my daughter Fanny [?] Allen one mare, one cow and calf, one feather bed weighing forty two pounds & furniture which property she has received & in addition I give & bequeath to her a cow & calf 5th I give and bequeath unto my Son Clement Allen one mare, one cow and calf and one feather bed weighing forty two pounds which property he has already received 6th I give and bequeath unto my son Thomas Allen one mare, one cow and calf, one feather bed weighing forty two pounds and my blacksmith tools he as need the share of the above named property the tools he can receive at my death 7th I give and bequeath unto my Son Stephen Allen one mare, one cow & calf and one feather bed weighing forty two pounds which property he has received 8th I give and bequeath unto my son Young D. Allen one sorrel mare, one [?] also one cow & calf, one feather bed weighing forty two pounds 9th I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Susannah Allen two feather beds, three head of horses to wit one gray mare and sucking colt and a bay filly which came of the sorrel mare, one cart & [? Possibly surry] the ones I got of [--?--] Four cows & calves, plantation tools during her natural life or widowhood then to belong to my Son Young D. Allen, I want my wife to keep all my stock during Her life or widowhood my gun and shot bag my present crop of corn, fodder all for the support of my family and stock all of which property she receives as a love[?] 10th My will and desire Is that my three negroes Jack, Eve [?] & John be appraised by three or four disinterested men & at the death of my wife to be equally divided between all my children 11th And I hereby constitute and appoint my Sons Thomas Allen and Young D. Allen to be my executors of this my last will & testament Stokes Allen Signed sealed and delivered published in the presence of us who have hereunto set our names as subscribing witnesses this 12th October 1831 John Bottoms Thomas Dewberry Jonathan Baker Georgia Pike County You John Bottoms, Thomas Dewberry & Jonathan Baker swear that you saw Stokes Allen sign seal publish & declare this writing to be and contain his last will & testament. That at the time thereof he was of sound disposing mind & memory. And that he did it freely without compulsion to the best of your knowledge so help you God. Allen Junior do solemnly swear that this writing contains the true last will & testament of the within named Stokes Allen deceased so far as I know or believe, & that I will well & truly execute the same by paying first the debts & then the legacies contained in the said will as far as his goods and chattels will thereunto extend & the law charge me & that I will make a true and perfect inventory of all such goods & chattels so help me God Young D. Allen Junior all my interest in the tract of land No. 90 in the first district of Pike formerly Monroe and for a certain consideration do forever relinquish all my part in said lot of land as above named to said Allen for which I have hereunto set my hand & affixing seal in the presence of us who have hereunto set our hands as subscribing witnesses this day & date above named Thomas G.
