All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Bill Russell dragonraj@comcast.net October 2, 2004, 11:35 am Source: Pike County Probate Court Written: April 1843 Recorded: September 4 1843 Will of Samuel Bowen State of Georgia Pike County In the name of God Amen I Samuel Bowen knowing it is ordained for all men to die and being far advanced in age and in feeble health, but of sound mind and memory, do make this my last will and Testament After all my just debts are paid, I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Nancy Bowen, during her life or widowhood all my property consisting of the land whereon I now live and lot number nine hundred and eighty nine (989) in the Eighteenth district, second section of originally Cherokee now Cobb County and also my stock of hogs, cattle, horses and all my household and kitchen furniture and plantation utensils - and after the death or marriage of my Said wife Nancy Bowen then my will and desire is that all my said property shall be equally divided between my children William Bowen, Elizabeth Bowen, Mary Bowen, Green Bowen, Lucy Bowen, James Bowen, and Thomas Bowen, and I do hereby nominate and appoint my beloved wife Nancy Bowen Executrix of this my last Will and Testament Signed, sealed, published and declared this day of April 1843 Samuel Bowen his mark Rigdon Heath Warren J. Morris Charles Fuller Georgia Pike County We Rigdon Heath and Warren J. Morris do solemnly swear that we saw Samuel Bowen (by making his mark) sign seal publish and declare this writing to be and contain his will that at the time thereof he was of sound disposing mind and memory and that he did it freely without compulsion to the best of our knowledge and that we saw Charles Fuller sign the same as a witness this 4th day of September 1843 last Rigdon Heath Warren J.
