Stephens wend@bellsouth.net July 11, 2004, 5:30 pm The Atlanta Constitution, Atlanta, GA, Cotton Picking Extraordinary From the Cedartown, Ga., Advertiser ---Mr. W. R. Brock informs us his family, consisting of wife and six children, picked recently 1,005 pounds of cotton in a day. Here is his record: Wife, aged 43, 110 pounds; daughter, age 18, 190 pounds; son, aged 16, 206 pounds; son, aged 12, 191 pounds; daughter, aged 10, 119 pounds; son, aged 9, 118 pounds, daughter, age 6, 71 pounds. Considering that 150 pounds is a fair average days work for a man, Mr. Brock thinks this record rather extraordinary.
