The Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA, July 17, 2003
Elaine L. Brown, 74, of 129 Cobb St. Cedartown died Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at 
her residence. She was born on April 9, 1929, the daughter of Marlin A. Ledford 
and Alice Jones Ledford. She had lived the greater part of her life in Polk 
County. She was a licensed Practical Nurse and was of the Baptist faith. She 
was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Walter J. Brown, and by two 
brothers, Marlin Lowell Ledford and Jack M. Ledford, Sr.. Survivors include her 
son, Alan Brown of Cedartown; sister, Brenda L. White of Rockmart; brother, 
Glenn L. Ledford of Cedartown and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral 
services were held Thursday, July 10 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis 
Miller and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Shedd and Rev. Chris Truett 
officiating. Interment followed in Northview Cemetery, Cedartown. Pallbearers 
included: Alex Thornton, Keith Barber, Tracy Samples, Jimmy Lee (Pete) Houston, 
Jr., Darrell White and William Witherall. The Alvis Miller and Son Funeral Home
