The Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA, December 23, 2003
William “J.C.” Brown, 83, of 419 Piedmont Highway, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 
17. He was born in Cleburne County, Ala. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by: 
parents, Joe Hamilton Brown and Elizabeth Smith Brown; brother, Gyle Brown; and 
sisters, Wilodean Tapp and Aloma Brown Mull. Survivors include: wife, Betty 
Jane Garrett Brown; sons, Jimmy, Terry and Larry Wayne Brown; and sisters, 
Doris Jackson, Flora Tierce and Caroline Brown. Seven grandchildren and one 
great-great-grandchild also survive. Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 
19, at 2 p.m., in the Chapel of Gammage Funeral Home with the Rev. Royce 
Campbell, Rev. Butch Tant, and Chaplin Alan Fuller officiating. Interment 
followed in the Union Grove Cemetery, Rock Run, Ala. The Gammage Funeral Home
