January 19, 2007, 9:39 am (The Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA, January 07, 2003) Susan Marie Burnette, 50, of 865 College Dr., Cedartown, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2003 following a lengthy illness. A native of Houston County, Mrs. Burnett was born on June 7, 1952, and was a member of the Worldview Baptist Church. She was a 1970 graduate of Model High School and obtained her Master’s from West Georgia College. She taught school at Midway Elementary in Floyd County and Goodyear Elementary in Rockmart during the late 1970’s. For a time she was associated with the First Step program in Polk County, working with teen moms. She worked with the Children’s Ministries at Worldview Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, John “Huland” King and Ruby Greer King. Survivors include her husband, Ken Burnett of Cedartown; son, Sean Burnett of Cedartown; brother, Charles “Chuck” King of Armuchee; aunts, Pauline McEntire of Rome, Louella White of Decatur and Annie Coker of Calhoun. Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 3, 2003 at 11 a.m. in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home with Dr. Larry Connor & Rev. Billy Brown officiating. Interment followed in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. The Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. This announcement was made locally by the Lester C.
