Cain, Sr, age 71, who resided at 125 Springdale Road, Rockmart, Polk County, Georgia, passed away, early Thursday Morning, July 26, 2007, at Redmond Park Hospital, Rome, Floyd County, Georgia. Mr. Cain had been in the hospital for several days and had been ill for several weeks prior to his death. He was a former employee of the Aragon Mill, in Aragon, Polk County, Georgia, also worked for the Atlanta Daries making local deliveries as a milkman, worked at Union Carbide in Cartersville, Georgia, and retired from the General Motors Assembly Plant working both at the old Lakewood Assembly Plant in Atlanta, Georgia, and then at the Doraville Assembly Plant in Doraville, Georgia. He was of the Lutheran faith and attended the Mighty Fortress Lutheran Church of Powder Springs, Georgia prior to his death. He is survived by his wife, Ellen (Biggers) Cain, of Rockmart, Georgia, having been married on January 31, 1959; two (2) sons, Clyde Neal "Neal" Cain, Jr. of Rockmart, Georgia, and Phillip Lewis "Phil" Cain and his wife, Amy Cain, both of Dallas, Georgia; one (1) daughter, Ellen Elaine (Cain) Borders, of Rockmart, Georgia; one (1) sister, Mrs. Ruth (Cain) Pannell of Cumming, Forsyth County, Georgia; and by seven (7) grandchildren and by one (1) great grandchild. Mr. Cain was pre-deceased in death by his parents, the late Ray W. "R.W." Cain and the late Irene (Mashburn) Cain, two (2) brothers, Raymond W. Cain and Ralph E. Cain; and one (1) sister, Frances (Cain) Hayes. Graveside services were held at 3:00 o'clock p.m. at the Northview Cemetery, Cedartown, Polk County, Georgia, with the Reverand Alvis Miller Officiating. Ron Daugherty was in charge of singing. Serving as active pallbearers at the funeral was Blake Cain, Matthew Cain, Nick Cain, Joey Martin, Johnny Pannell, Benny Powell, and Cody Rayburn. Honorary pallbearers were Cody Bauer, Gavin Borders and Ethan Cain. Memorial services were held at 1:00 o'clock p.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2007, in the Chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home, Rockmart, Georgia, with the Reverand Fred Piepenbrink officiating. The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home was in charges of the burial and funeral arrangements. Additional Comments: Mr. Cain is the grandson of Will William "W.W."
