The Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA, December 05, 2003
Mabel Brown Careathers passed away Thursday, Nov. 20. She was born Jan. 9, 1926 
in Polk County and was a member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church where 
she was a member of the Missionary and Senior Usher Board. She was preceded in 
death by: parents, Mose Brown and Mandy Pound; son, John Calvin Mathis; and 
daughter, Annelle Mathis. Survivors include: husband, Albert Sherman 
Careathers; sons, Russell and Arthur Mathis of Cedartown; daughter; Mae Bell 
Chubb of Cedartown; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The 
Robert L. Parks Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. (The Cedartown
