The Rockmart Journal, Rockmart, GA , January 2004
Mr. Joseph Mayo Coffman, 63, 563 Hendrix Road, Rockmart, died January 6, 2004. 
He was born in Perry, GA on April 28, 1940, a son of the late Roy Hammonds 
Coffman and Annie Mae Akins Coffman. He had been a resident of Polk County for 
the past 45 years where he was a member of the Springdale Baptist Church and 
prior to ill health was a self-employed carpenter. Mr. Coffman was preceded in 
death by daughter, Sherry Lynn Coffman; brothers, William Coffman, Arvel 
Coffman, and Odell Coffman; sisters, Margie Crawley and Annie Louise Coffman. 
Surviving are daughters, Karen Cook, Buchanan; Rhonda Willing-ham Turner, 
Rockmart; Jennifer Lynn Tomlinson, Rockmart and Sandie Cook, Rockmart; son, 
Joey Coffman, Rockmart; sisters, Christine Meers, Rockmart, Beulah Mae Gabriel, 
Villa Rica and Betty Pearson, Canton; brothers, Marvin Coffman, Buchanan, Ivey 
Coffman, Dallas, Luther Coffman, Euless, TX and Harold (Pete) Coffman, 
Lafayette; 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren. The funeral service was 
conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2004 in the Springdale Baptist Church 
with Rev. Bobby McDowell, Rev. Ernie Dodd and Rev. Danny Roberson officiating. 
Interment was held in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Mark Fennell, 
Richard Fennell, Billy Knowles, Don Coffman, Jason Coffman, Harold Coffman, 
Vincent Ramey, William Coffman, Joey Willingham and David Willingham. The Alvis 
Miller & Son Funeral Home had charge of arrangements. (The Rockmart Journal,
