Stephens stephens2247@bellsouth.net October 9, 2006, 12:00 pm Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA., August 12, 2003 Bobby Duane “Vic” Cook, 67, 417 Bellview Rd., Rockmart, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 6. He was born Nov. 9, 1915 in Polk County, the son of Rev. Raymond Cook the late Mrs. Lindora Camp Cook. He was a 28-year employee of the Engineering Fabrics Corporation of Rockmart, and was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church of Albertville, AL. Survivors include: wife, Mattie Ruth Corley Cook, to whom he was married Sept. 10, 1955; three sons, Clifford Cook, Steve Cook and Timothy Cook, all of Rockmart; father, Rev. Raymond Cook, Sr. of Albertville, AL; brother, Raymond Cook, Jr. of Roswell; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 9, in the New Prospect Baptist Church with Rev. Owen Davis, Jr., Rev. Lawrence Garrett and Rev. John Hooper officiating. Interment followed in the New Prospect Church cemetery. Pallbearers were: Wade Cook, Jody Cook, Matthew Cook, Dusty Cook, Jon Cook and Barry Cambron. Honorary escort was Natoshia Tyquiengco and Cody Cook. The Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Denman Sallie Mae Denman, 76, 651 West Ave., passed away Monday, Aug. 4. She was born in Polk County and was preceded in death by: husband, Seals W. Couzzourt; husband, James W. “J.W.” Denman; mother, Clara Thrasher Dodwin; father, Johnny Marvin Thrasher; and brother, James Thrasher. Survivors include: Patricia A. and Daniel Carney of Rome; Danny and Elaine Couzzourt of Rome; Gwen and Butch Patterson of Cedartown; Dollene D. and Randy Ray of Cedartown; brother, Brooks Thrasher of Rome; sister, Frances Arvelle Johnson of Cedartown; nine grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Funeral services were held Aug. 7 in the Chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Frasier and Rev. Royce Campbell officiating. Interment followed in the Northview Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Mark Purser, Eddie Carter, Jim Glaze, Stanley Wallace, Robert Mullinax and Wayne Landrum. The Gammage Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Parish Edward Lee Parish, 66, 551 Friendship Rd., passed away Wednesday, Aug. 6, in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 20, 1936 in Polk County and was an Air Force veteran and a Mason. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Doris Parish; father, Franklin D. Parish; and brother, Bobby Wayne Parish. Survivors include: mother, Janie Lou Daniel Parish; sons Steve Lee Parish, Charles Franklin Parish, Anthony Lynn Parish, Raymond Edward Parish; sisters, Chelma Jean Bell; brother, Doyle Parish; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. Memorial services were held Friday, Aug. 8, from the Chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Chesley Trey Chambers officiating. The Gammage Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
