Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA., August 28, 2003
George Harrison Cowden, 46, of 404 E. Elm St, Rockmart, passed away Wednesday, 
Aug. 20, 2003.  He was born Jan. 29, 1957 in Atlanta and was a member of First 
Methodist Church of College Park. He enjoyed exploring and photographing caves 
and underground caverns. He was employed with various federal jobs from 
surveying to census gathering.  Survivors include his parents, Jean Harrison 
Cowden and Bartow Cowden, III of College Park, and a brother, Bartow Cowden, 
IV.  A memorial service was held Saturday, Aug. 23, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of 
the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with Rev. Carol Cook officiating.  Freeman 
Harris Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. (Cedartown Standard,
