Stephens stephens2247@bellsouth.net February 2, 2007, 12:35 pm The Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA, December 23, 2003 Walter G. Cromer, 66, of 406 Edna St., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 16. A native of Cherokee County, Ala., he was born Nov. 19, 1937. Prior to his retirement in 1995, he had been associated with Trend Mills, Harbinger Carpets, and Image Carpets. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include: wife, Donna Byrd; sister, Jackie Chestnut, Leesburg Ala.; children, Timothy Wayne Cromer, Coosa, Lesia Brown, Centre, Ala., Bryan Keith Cromer, Gaylesville, Ala., Anita Breeden, Rome, William Joseph Cromer and Michael Gene Cromer, both of Cedartown; and step-children, David Hall, Perry, Ronald and Donald Hall, both of Randleman, N.C., and Suzie Knight, Cedartown. Thirteen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter also survive. Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 18, at 3 p.m., at the First Baptist Church of Cave Spring with Rev. Jerry Dudley officiating. Interment followed in the family lot of the Banard Cemetery in Alexis, Ala. John House’s Cave Spring Chapel Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
