Mrs. Betty Williamson Elrod, 73, 29 Oak Hill Drive, Rockmart, died Dec. 9, 
2003. Mrs. Elrod was born Aug. 22, 1930 in Rockmart, daughter of the late Henry 
Linton and Mattie Lou Godwin Williamson. She was a member of the Rockmart First 
United Methodist Church, a former Carlton’s Department Store employee, and a 
retired Casual Shop employee. She was preceded in death by husband, James Bert 
Elrod. Surviving are daughter, Melinda Harrison, Rockmart; sons, Andy Elrod and 
Jamie Elrod, both of Rockmart; brother, Hugh Wil-liamson, Texas; sister, LuNeal 
Hailey, California; four grandsons. The funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. 
Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003 at the Rockmart First United Methodist Church with Rev. 
Carol Cook and Rev. David Autry officiating. Interment was held in Rose Hill 
Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mike Clark, Joel Williams, Bobby Haney, Bob Culver, 
Scott Cook and Ryan Molock. Freeman Harris Funeral Home had charge of
