Stephens stephens2247@bellsouth.net October 9, 2006, 12:53 pm Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA., February 18, 2003 Gladys Williams Wood Entrekin, 80, of 270 Pope Lake Rd., Tallapoosa, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003. She was born Feb. 12, 1922 in Haralson County to the late John and Cynthia Dobbs Williams. She was a retired trimmer and tacker with Hubbard Co. and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church of Felton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Rev. Hoyt Herbert Wood; second husband, Hulett Entrekin; sister, Thelma Bowman; and brothers, Fred and Elbert Williams. Survivors include: daughters, Gloria Heard and Frances Griffin; stepdaughter, Patsy Ayers; son, Wendell Wood; sisters, Martha Williams and Mattie Lou Pope; brother, J. T. Williams; five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and 5 step- great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003 at 3 p.m. from Crossroads Baptist Church with Rev. Howard Locklear, Rev. Doyle Kerr, and Rev. Gerlad Sloman officiating. Music was provided by Michael and Joan Brown. Interment followed in Crossroads Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Wendell Wood, Dell Wood, James Heard Jr., Terry Heard, Matt Denton, Brandon Griffin, Ceford Wood, and Roger Pope. Honorary pallbearers were Gerald Griffin, Marvin Williams, and the deacons of Crossroads Baptist Church. Miller Funeral Home of Tallapoosa was in charge of the arrangements.
