Stephens stephens2247@bellsouth.net October 11, 2006, 12:23 pm Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA., April 08, 2003 Mildred Vance Frew, 73, of 230 Cherokee Circle, Cedartown, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2003. She was born July 27, 1929 in Polk County and was a member of First Baptist Church. She was retired from the Polk School District after 33 years of service as an educator and media specialist. She was also a member of the Retired Teachers’ Association. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles J. and Mildred Thornton Vance, and husband Sam Frew. Survivors include sons, William Vance Frew of Cedartown and Charles Samuel Frew of Cedartown, and a brother, Joe Vance of Cedartown. Funeral services were conducted Friday, April 4, 2003 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Litesey Funeral Home with Dr. David Taylor officiating. Interment followed in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jack Darden, Rob Darden, David Vance, Brian Vance, Brad Vance, and Darrell Sorrells. Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
