Stephens stephens2247@bellsouth.net October 11, 2006, 12:33 pm The Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA., March 04, 2003 Myrtle E. Garland, 93, of Cedartown, passed away Feb. 24, 2003. She was born in Oklahoma on April 19, 1909, was a U.S. Army Veteran & Army Nurse during World War II, a member of Cedartown First Presbyterian Church, and retired from the State of Georgia as Polk County Health Nurse. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Grover and Ada Gertrude Garland. Survivors include: dear friend Zelia Ann Woodward; sister, Evelyn Garland Lowe; and a number of extended family, including nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dave Grove officiating. Interment followed at Cedar Grove Methodist Cemetery in Ellenwood. Pallbearers were Steve Boswell, Greg Stewart, Benny Dowd, Larry Lawson, Raymond Williams, and Frank Lott. Gammage Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
