Mrs. Clara M. Gober, 87, 234 Piedmont Ave., Rockmart died April 16, 2004. Mrs. 
Gober was born in Calhoun County, Alabama December 2, 1916, daughter of the 
late John Lee Martin and Carrie Adeline Martin. She was a member of the 
Rockmart Church of Christ. She was a former member of the Eastern Star where 
she served as Worthy Matron. She was a former employee of the Goodyear Tire and 
Rubber Company of Rockmart, a former employee of the Rockmart Chamber of 
Commerce and a former bookkeeper for Bennett-Morgan Tractor Company. She was 
preceded in death by son, Mr. Jon Gober; daughter, Mrs. Ginger Wright; sisters, 
Mrs. Evelyn Potts and Mrs. Ilan Reed; brothers, Mr. Morris Martin and Clarence 
Martin. Surviving are husband of 70 years, Ira W. Gober, Rockmart; daughters, 
Mrs. Shirley King, Rockmart and Mrs. Jan Julian, Marietta; sons, Lanny Gober, 
Rockmart and Tim Gober, Carrollton; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren. 
The funeral service was conducted at 11 a.m. Monday April 19 in the Rockmart 
Church of Christ with Ministers Craig Hallman and Alvis Miller officiating. 
Interment was held in Rose Hill Cemetery. Grandsons serving as pallbearers were 
Vincent Wright, Dr. Glenn King, Greg Gober, Dr. Kelly Gober, Kevin Gober, Dr. 
Daniel Gober and Chandler Julian. Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home had charge of
