The Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA, March 25, 20
Nellie Mae Hardin Grant, 88, of Hazelhurst, Ga., passed away Monday, March 22, 
2004 in the Jeff Davis hospital. She was born April 5, 1915 in Cedartown and 
was a homemaker and bookkeeper in Cedartown until 1955, when she and her 
husband moved to Hazelhurst. Mrs. Grant was employed as Hazelhurst city clerk 
for 19 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Gordon Hardin 
and Sarah Elephair Taylor Hardin; husband, Linton Grant; brother, John Max 
Hardin; sister, Katherine Lenora Hardin Salter and niece, Faye Avalon Daniel. 
Surviving are: sister-in-law, Virginia Grant McCurdy of Cedartown; nephew, Dr. 
Grant Lewis of Rome, a great-niece and two great-nephews, one great-great niece 
and nephew and one great-great- great neice. Funeral services will be conducted 
today, Thursday, March 25, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Miles Funeral Home with 
the Rev. Barry Owens officiating. Interment will follow in the Hazelhurst 
Cemetery in Jeff Davis County. Miles Funeral Home of Hazelhurst had charge of
