Stephens stephens2247@bellsouth.net January 29, 2007, 6:44 pm Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA, August 14, 2003 James Currie Gray, Jr. of Aragon, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2003 in his home after a three and a half-month battle with cancer. He was 73. Gray was born on February 26, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of the late Mary K. Gray and James Gray. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Formerly of Marietta, Georgia, he had been a resident of Polk County for 14 years. He attended Rockmart First Presbyterian Church. Prior to retirement, Mr. Gray was in sales and marketing in the moving industry. In retirement, he was actively involved in the AARP’s 55 Alive Driver Education Program where he served as an instructor to many in the area. He was a long time member of many support groups in Polk, Floyd, and Bartow counties. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Norma Tucker Gray; one daughter, Susan Norris and her husband Dan, of Williamsville, NY; sons, Karl Gray and his wife Donna of Colliersville, TN, and Curt Gray of Taylorsville; sister, Frances V. Gray of St. Louis, MO; and had five grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 16, 2003 at Rockmart Presbyterian at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make a donation to the American Cancer Society.
