(The Rome News Tribune, Rome, GA., February 27, 1973)
James Edward Smith, infant son of Mr. And Mrs. James Arthur Smith, Jr., 
Cedartown Rte. 2, died Sunday morning in a Rome hospital.  Survivors beside his 
parents are two sisters, Miss Melinda Smith and Miss Denise Smith, two 
brothers, Ray and Ricky Parker, grandparents, Mrs. Josie Witcher and Mr. And 
Mrs. James Arthur Smith, Sr., great-grandmother, Mrs. Hattie Dudley and Mrs. 
Sally Jackson, all of Cedartown.  Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. 
Tuesday at the graveside in Friendship Cemetery.  The Rev. R.L. Caswell will 
officiate.  Gammage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (The Rome News
