Stephens wend@bellsouth.net March 24, 2004, 12:38 pm (The Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA, Tuesday, February 1, 1994, page 5) James Daniel Thrasher, age 69, of 76 Opel Street, Cartersville, formerly of Cedartown, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 26, 1994, after an extended illness. Mr. Thrasher was born Oct. 11, 1924. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, a superintendent of a textile product company in Crossett, Ark., and a supervisor at Cedartown Textile Products. He was preceded in death by his father, John Marvin Thrasher. Surviving are: mother, Clara Bell Godwin; one son, Jimmy Thrasher, Crossett; two sisters, Sallie Mae Denman and Frances Johnson, both of Cedartown; one brother, Brooks Thrasher, Rome. Graveside services were held Saturday, Jan. 29, at 11 a.m. in Polk Memory Gardens, with the Rev. Monroe Willingham officiating. Gammage Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
